Which Do Your Prefer ?

As the Title goes......Which do you prefer? In today's pocket diary, I'm referring to the person that you prefer to be the Mentri Besar (MB) of Perak. The top picture (Nizar) is the "actual" MB and the bottom picture (Zambry) is the "self-declared" MB. Throughout my life, I have refused to acknowledge the saying " Do Not Judge A Book by Its Cover". I have met so many people whom I can rather judge his or her personality just by looking at the person's face or when the person talk. So....today I will let you guys (especially people from Perak) to judge for yourself.

Let be honest here.......Just by looking at the 2 photos, which would you honestly have prefered? If you ask my opinion, I would tell you honestly that I would prefered (100%) Nizar to be the MB of Perak. Just look at the picture at the bottom (Zambry). He does not look like a confident person at all. In my opinion, he looks more like a butler waiting for the master to give instructions on what to do next. On contrary, I will say that Nizar's look gives me a more assured feeling that he knows what he is doing, is confident and he really looks like a smart person. As I have mentioned, this is just my opinion as you guys out there might have your own opinion which I don't which to argue at all.

I have never known Nizar before all the fiasco that had happened in Perak recently. In fact, if you have asked me 2 months ago, who is the MB of Perak and how he look like, I would have told you that I don't know. I guess it's a blessing in disguise that all this fiasco have happened in Ipoh and I have the opportunity to find out more what our MB of Perak (Nizar) is all about. Since the beginning of this month,I have gone thru a lot of his speeches and his interview that he has given to the press and reporters. I have to conclude that Perakians are very lucky to have Nizar as the MB and I really hope and pray that he will eventually be given the tasks to complete his tenure as MB of Perak.

Let me tell you some history. In case that some of you still don't know it, Nizar is actually from the PAS party. If you have ask me a few months back, honestly speaking, I have never find it comfortable with the PAS party cos there were some times where they stress on the hudud laws which I do not believe in it. In fact, I have never like PAS at all as I believe that if they ever going to form the next government, a lot of freedom will be gone in my country.

Fortunately, when I was doing some research on this Nizar, I found that his character does not match what I initially thought what PAS party was all about. I even found out that he instructed the state government to give some money to the churches in Ipoh during the last Christmas Season. Wow.....that is indeed something that I would never have believe it happening at all. Just think back, for the past decade when the BN rules Perak, have you ever heard that they gave money to churches to celebrate Christmas??? Anyway, I truly believe that we Perakians, are blessed to have Nizar as the MB of Perak. In my next pocket diary, I will promise to post more about Nizar which I believe is the "Special One" of Perak now.

Malaysian Agency for Car and Cows

Last week, I mention regarding the Man of the Moment, Khir Toyo. Today, I present to you another person from the "same kampung", Ahmad Said Hamdan. Well.....previously, he might not be as famous as Khir Toyo but after this weekend, he might well be more famous than the former.
Well.....for your info this guy is in fact the head of the MACC (Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission). At an event in Penang, he mention that the MACC felt that there was strong evidence to show that Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim (Mentri Besar of Selangor) has abused his powers. Ahmad Said Hamdan said that they would suggest that legal action be taken.
Now....let me make it clear. I have not seen this Mentri Besar of Selangor before. He might have abused his position as the Selangor Mentri Besar and might have actually used state funds to maintain his sports vehicle and buy 104 cows to be slaughtered in his constituency. He really might have, I don't know. Anyway, if he did, he should be charged in court and if he is found guilty, he should be convicted and punished even though he is the Mentri Besar of Selangor.
In fact, the MACC was actually started by PM Abdullah Badawi to used it as the paragon of independence and justice. This body is supposed to act without fear or favour. What is controversial is that fact that usually, it is the policy of anti-corruption agencies in the world to refrain from going into the specifics of a case until a decision is taken to charge the individual person. They normally give details to the press on the even of the subject of the probe being charge. Yet, Ahmad Said was generous with MACC's take on this case.
Worst still, after this issue, Malaysians will find it extremely difficult to trust the MACC anymore again. There were so many cases against the BN leaders like our PM , DPM, Khir Toyo and many others. Some of the cases are still being investigated years after reports were made. Others have also disappeared mysteriously. But this time, the MACC was so super quick in their investigation after a few UMNO youth politicians lodged a report against Khalid Ibrahim.
Just imagine, the report was lodge on the Feb 6 2009 and their investigation took place so quickly. Honestly, I'm not exactly a supporter of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim but what about the report he made regarding the former Mentri Besar Kedah, Mahadhir Khalid attempt to bribe a PKR member to cross over to the BN party. This issue was even recorded thru CCTV with audio recording. What happen to the report??
Isn't it pretty obvious , that this "joker" is biased. Well.......I cannot blame him at all because who knows, he might have been given 2 choices only, to received a few millions bucks or to received a few bullets in an envelope. No wonder I cannot stop but laugh at what our famous DAP Secretary Lim Kit Siang mention that MACC stands for "Malaysian Agency for Car and Cows"

Don't Offer "Duit Kopi"

Well....Just received this message from my friend regarding the traffic police of Malaysia. Since this notice is very relevant, I will share with you guys in my Pocket Diary for today.

Dear Friends,

If you have ever paid or are thinking of paying "Coffee Money" when stopped for traffic or other offences, Don't Ever Do This Again.

The traffic department (JPJ) has recently started a campaign to be rid of corruption. Every officer on duty will be rewarded with RM100 if they report each case of bribery to the department. This is how they do (trick you into) it. They will note down the details of your IC/MyKad and ask you how you want to settle ("Macam mana nak selesai?")
If you indicate yes or even offer to give them any money, they will report the incident by rejecting your "Kopi Money" and get the RM100 instead as an incentive for their integrity and "Honest" publicity. This means that you will end up having a summon issued to you and perhaps a charge for bribery.
SO DON'T PAY DUIT KOPI AGAIN, especially if you hope to go free with a lesser amount of money compared to thefine. Even if you want to pay over RM200, the JPJ Officers would rathe have a "good" name than to take your kopi money. Just beware of their trick ecause the cops are now accumulating "cookies" points for their promotion and pay increment - with your help if possible.

Email extracted from Samantha Chan
Hmmm.....talking about corruption in Malaysia, if this is what is happening in the traffic police department of Malaysia, I suggest that they should implement this rule across the board. You see..... from the latest news today, it was noted that at least one of the Member of Parliment (MP) of Perak that quited the PR party earlier this month was offered a substantial amount of money (at least RM5 million) to quit the PR Party.
Since the so called government has already taken steps to reduce corruption at the traffic police department, May I suggest that they also do the same to all MPs related incident. Why not offer the relevant MP or MPs at least RM1 million each if they manage to produce the name of the person and party who have bribe them to leave their respective party?? Isn't this a great way to destroy corruption??

You Make Me Proud Of You, Bro !

I take this opportunity to salute you bro! You have indeed make a lot of Perakians proud of you. Well....in case you guys out there are wondering who the heck is this guy in the picture.
Well.....Chelsea FC used to have a great manager called the "Special One" ( Jose Mourinho) but today I pay tribute to Perak's very own "Special One".......V.Sivakumar.
V. Sivakumar is the Perak State legislative assembly speaker. He actully made the decision to suspend the "self-declared Mentri Besar" Datuk Dr Zambry together with 6 state executive council members from attending the state legislative assembly for a period of 18 months and 12 months. The BN (government) must be biting their teeth right now. Just when they thought that they have taken back the Perak State, this latest news might come back to haunt them in future.
Our DPM Najib must be having a hard time since yesterday. He might even find it hard to sleep at night. He probably is wondering what can he do next. He already ask the favour of the Sultan of Perak once. Maybe this time he might go and ask the Agung for help :) Actually Najib might be regretting not targeting V. Sivakumar instead of the Jelapang Assemblywoman Hee Yit Foong as Hee was only the Deputy assembly speaker. In fact rumours has is that Hee was "given" 20 Million to cross over.
Now....let's get to the interesting part. Since 7 of the BN members are suspended, this will mean that PR party has regained its majority of 28 seats against BN's 24 seats. Hmmm.....that will mean that there would be another round of Mentri Besar swearing ceremony soon. Just curious, will the Sultan of Perak now chose back the PR's original Mentri Besar? Looks like the Sultan of Perak will have to accomodate a swearing ceremony once in a while to cater to the situation. Honestly, does all this sound ridiculous to you guys out there??
Anyway, the right way that the Sultan of Perak should do is actually to dissolve the state assembly and call for a fresh election in Perak for the people of Perak to choose who they want to rule their own State. At least in this way, the Sultan of Perak will not have to attend several swearing ceremony every year.
Honestly speaking, I don't think this will happen. We will all know what will happen. Who knows, the next person that will either go missing might be V. Sivakumar. In fact, until today, I find it hard to believe that a person can just "vanish" from this earth so easily. My guess is that there are certain people up there with very strong connections and power. Just imagine, how can a person just vanish in such a short time without even the knowledge of their family members. This is one aspect of politics that I have found it hard to believe but have started to accept the fact that money and power always rule in politics.
Well......before we reach that stage which I believe will not take too long, let us all take this moment to stand up and applaud what our brother V. Sivakumar has done yesterday. He has done a lot of Perakians proud yesterday including myself. I take this opportunity to wish you well and may God bless and protect you from now onwards. Well Done Bro Siva !

Do You Have Common Sense??

Well........I have been very busy with my work lately but I still could not resist to sacrifice some of my time to highlight the "Man of the Moment" in my pocket diary. This post is specially "dedicated" to the man on the right. For those people who have followed the latest political saga back in Malaysia will know regarding the resignation of the assemblywoman of Bukit Lanjan, Elizabeth Wong. She actually went to the press and offered her resignation. You guys out there can refer to my video post at the side to witness her press conference.
Apparently, somebody (some suspect is her ex-bf) have taken photos of her sleeping naked in the middle of the night. These photos were then circulated around through MMS to destroy her credibility. To add salt to her wound, our "Man of the Moment", Khir Toyo actually called her to resign from all her post on "moral grounds". He added that "Malaysians were not ready to accept leaders who were embroiled in scandals".
Now.....let's be honest here......although I'm no politicians but I still have "some" common sense. What is wrong with a person sleeping naked alone at night? What kind of moral grounds or scandals have to do with a person sleeping naked alone at night in her own room? Even I have slept naked in my own room many times when the weather is extremely hot.
So.....Khir Toyo......I rather you share and tell me what moral grounds or scandals have been violated for anyone who have slept naked in their room at night? Are you telling me that you have never slept naked in your own room or even other people's room? I'm not a Muslim but I urge you to think of Allah before you answer my question.
In case, you are still struggling with your common sense, let me give you a scenario. Assuming you are sleeping naked in your room or bathing naked in your bathroom and somebody actually secretly took naked pictures of you and then start to circulate to the public. Now, does that mean you have some moral ground problems or scandals? Most importantly.....would your resign from your post??? Wouldn't you be looking for the person who actually took the photos?? Now.....this is what I called common sense that most of us Malaysians have but unfortunately you have difficulty understanding.
Finally, can you look into your own mirror and honestly say that you have never ever have any scandals or problem on moral grounds associated with you all this years??? I guess the public knows better :)

What a big JOKE!!!

I remember posting a few days ago that I was very sad that day as I believe that democracy do not exist anymore in my country. Today, as I was browsing through the internet, I just found out one very unbelievable thing. My hometown Ipoh, might go down in history as the only state that will have 2 heads of government serving at the same time. What a joke!!!

Since the current Mentri Besar, Mohamad Nizar (at least that's what I believe) did not resign from his post, he still went on with his duties and charing of meetings. I really admire his courage and strong belief. He knows that he is actually the rightful and lawful Mentri Besar until today. Honestly speaking, I have not personally met him at all but from what I hear him speak throught the various media channels, I truly believe that he is someone destined to bring a big change in my beloved hometown. What else can the BN candidate ( the other Mentri Besar, which is off course not being recognised by most people) do to my hometown that the BN could not have done for more than 15 years???

One good news that I read regarding the meeting chaired by Mohamad Nizar is that they have approved of the airport in Ipoh to be open again (Yea!!!). The company that is going to fly to the Ipoh Airport is called Firefly. It was also stated that the plane will fly to both Subang and Singapore!!!! Did you see that......it's Singapore !!!! Wow...... I am really excited and waiting in anticipation in May this year when it opens. This means that I would be able to go back to Ipoh more frequently every year. I always find it difficult to go back to Ipoh as there are no direct flights to Ipoh. One option is to take a flight from Singapore to KL and then take a cab from KL airport to Ipoh.....sounds tiring ah . The other thing is off course to drive my car all the way back to Ipoh. Hmmm.....talking about driving back to Ipoh........I will not probably do it again. I drove the first time from Singapore to Ipoh during the recent Chinese New Year and it took me 12 hours to reach Ipoh......still can't believe I did that. Anyway.....finger crossed.... come May this year, I will be able to fly back to Ipoh directly from Singapore.

Anyway.....back to Politics back home, I really hope that the PR will find a way to wrestle back the state. It really stinks when you see what the government (BN) are doing with the tax payers money. Did you know that 2 of the 3 persons that quit their PR posts are actually being sued for accepting bribes for some government projects. I guess someone must have told them that if they did not quit the PR party, they will definately be going to jail. Now that they have quited the PR party, I am confident that this 2 persons will not be convicted at all......Just remember my words here.

My hometown, Ipoh has been a relatively peaceful state all these years and too see and hear what is happening right now really make me feel sad. I really cannot believe that people of all ages especially the older retirees coming out of their comfort homes, standing under the hot sun and late nights to stage a protest. Are you sure they got nothing better to do at home? This incident shows how much they are disgusted with the things going around. Guess what..... I read that our Deputy Prime Minister, Najib was supposed to be in Ipoh today for a function but the event was cancel in the last minute for security reasons. Even the DPM is scared to face the people........ I wonder why hor....... Just check on one of my videos on how the poster with DPM Najib being stepped on by the people of Ipoh........really unbelievable.

Today, is a very sad day for me. I am a Malaysian who have been working in Singapore for more than 7 years. I have been asked many times by my friends to be a Singaporean since my wife is a Singaporean and I have intended to stay in Singapore for the rest of my life. Reason is that , deep down inside my heart, I am a very patriotic person. I have always feel a sense of belonging everytime that I go back to Ipoh (my hometown) even though it's only 2 times a year.

I don't know what is the reason exactly. To be honest, everytime that I go back to Ipoh, I really never feel that there are any improvement nor major changes in this capital city of Perak. Ipoh has not improve much for the past 10 years. Most of the youngsters who have graduated from University or Colleges have choose to work in other bigger states or like me work in Singapore because opportunity is very minimum and there are not much improvement in this city. One closer look at this city will make you realise that it is a city for retirees. It is an honest but sad fact to the city that once promise so much in the beginning.

But the weird thing is that everytime that I'm back in Ipoh, I have this nostalgic feeling about this city. After all, this is also the place where I have grew up, study and did a lot of funny things. Whenever I pass through my secondary school, I will always stop for a moment to think back all the funny incident be it bad or good that happen to me during my schoold days. I will share bout my secondary school days in another post.

Anyway, the reason that I set up this blog today and said that I was very sad is because of what has happened to the politics in Malaysia especially in Perak. I have never really been interested in Politics all this while although most of my friends who are from Malaysia working in Singapore always meet up for coffee and talk about Politics back home.

Even though as I have said, that I have never really been interested in Politics, I have always read the online newspaper to catch up on other news especially on the sport news of Malaysia. For the past few weeks, I have also been reading the online newspaper. What happen to the politics back at Perak recently really made me puzzled. This is also the reason I start up my Pocket Diary Blog.

I never ever believe 100% previously that a person's integrity could be bought by money as I am someone who always believe that not all things can be bought over by money. Although I admit that some people or leaders in Malaysia might be corrupted because of money, I never believe that it might affect all the members of parliment chosed by the people.

Since the last election, the Perak state was won by the Opposition Party (PR). It was a truly unexpected news for me in the beginning when news came out. I always knew that certain constituency in Perak are the Opposition party strongholds but I did not expected them to win the whole state. As I read through more and more past post, I come to realise that the people might have actually vote for PR instead of the Rulling Coalition (BN) not because they like the PR more but maybe they vote for PR to win because they hate PR lesser than they hate BN. As I have mention, there is not much improvement in Perak for the past 10 years so I thought the people of Perak sent a strong message to the government that they are utterly disappointed with the government.

For you guys out there who knows what is going on, by now, you should know that Perak have a new government and that is the BN. The reason is that 3 of the PR member of Parliment (MP) have all resigned from PR and became independent MP. The funny thing is that they are supposed to be Independent MP but they are also called "Barisan-friendly Independent" and because they are "Barisan-Friendly Independent", indirectly they belong to the BN and thus the BN have the majority of the Perak State.

My questions is why not join BN in the first place and not just be Independent MP? What happen one day if these so called 3 "Barisan-Friendly Independents" decided that they want to be "PR-Friendly Independents" instead??

I never like the idea that an MP can jump from one party to another party so easily and yet mantain his MP title. I know that this so called "Frog Jumping" as term by Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon was started by Mr. Anwar Ibrahim from the PR but I have always agreed with what one DAP leader , Karpal Singh suggestion that this rule of jumping from one party to another party be abolished. In my opionion I am convinced that the majority people who choose their candidate to be MP always considered which party this candidate represented. So, do you think it's fair for a MP to jump from one party to another party and still retain his MP title?

As of today, both the BN and the PKR have 28 MPs equally. The reason that BN has power over Perak is because of this so called "BN-Friendly Independents". The other thing that puzzled me was that the PR Mentri Besar actually requested to the Perak Sultan to have a fresh election for the Perak State because of the 3 MPs that have resigned PR but this was rejected by the Sultan. I really do not know the reason of his decision but I am definately sad and disappointed with his decision. The Sultan is someone who do not need to take orders from anyone as he can make his sole decision which will have to stand at the end of the day.

What is the problem of holding a fresh election in Perak? After all, it is the people of Perak who choose their own MP. My guess is that the BN could not afford a fresh election in Perak because if this happens, they might not even win 28 Constituencies. They might be embarrased with the result like what happen in Penang state where the BN was whitewashed away.

As it is now, the new mentri besar (from BN) has sworn in already to be the new prime minister. The swearing ceremony took place down at the Sultan Azlan Palace. I'm just curious, since the MP number difference between BN and PR is razon thin, what happen in future if 2 of the BN MP quite the BN party and decided to join the PR? Will there be another swearing ceremony at the Palace? Just imagine, all it takes is for 2 MP to cross over and the whole process has to done all over again........does it make sense to you guys out there???

Well, I guess if you got a lot of money like the BN has, you can just buy over a person's integrity even though it is a very sad thing. Anyway, I just hope that justice will prevail at the end of the day as I always believe that there is a God above who is ever watching and knowing.
